What is ARALEVEL A1?
ARALEVEL A1 is a CEFR-aligned Arabic proficiency assessment designed to evaluate your ability to understand and use Arabic at beginner level.
The assessment evaluates your proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic across four core language skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
At A1 level, you are expected to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases, introduce yourself and others, ask and answer simple questions, and communicate in straightforward situations when the language is clear and familiar.
ARALEVEL A1 does more than test what you know. It gives you a structured picture of your current Arabic ability and helps identify the next step in your learning journey.

What Does ARALEVEL A1 Assess?
Your Arabic proficiency is evaluated across four core language skills.
LISTENING
Understand short, clear spoken Arabic related to familiar everyday situations, basic personal information and simple needs.
SPEAKING
Communicate using simple phrases and sentences, introduce yourself, answer basic questions and exchange familiar information.
READING
Understand short, simple Arabic texts containing familiar words, expressions and basic everyday information.
WRITING
Write simple phrases and sentences about yourself, familiar people, everyday activities and basic personal information.
How Does the ARALEVEL A1 Assessment Work?
1. Book Your Assessment
Purchase your ARALEVEL A1 assessment and provide the information required to arrange your assessment session.
2. Schedule Your Session
Your assessment will be scheduled for a convenient date and time. You will receive the session details and Zoom link before your assessment.
3. Take Your Assessment
Join your scheduled Zoom session and complete the ARALEVEL A1 assessment across Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
4. Receive Your Results
Receive your ARALEVEL results with clear feedback on your performance and guidance on the next step in your Arabic learning journey.
What to Expect on Assessment Day?
Your ARALEVEL A1 assessment will take place online via Zoom in a structured, supportive environment.
You will complete tasks across Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, designed to evaluate your current ability in Modern Standard Arabic at A1 level.
Please join your session from a quiet location with a stable internet connection and have a working microphone and camera available. Any assessment materials or instructions you need will be provided during the session.
The purpose is not simply to give you a score, but to provide a clear picture of your current Arabic proficiency and help guide your next step.
